Common recipe questions

How do I get tofu crispy for the wrap?

Coat tofu strips evenly with cornstarch before frying in vegetable oil over medium-high heat until golden on all sides. Then bake briefly to caramelize the glaze.

Can I prepare the holiday slaw in advance?

Yes, the slaw can be mixed up to a few hours before serving to allow flavors to meld, but toss with dressing just before assembling wraps.

What alternatives work for pumpkin seeds in the slaw?

Toasted pecans or walnuts make great substitutes, adding a nutty crunch that complements the other ingredients.

How do I keep the wraps from getting soggy?

To avoid sogginess, keep the sour cream layer thin and toast the wraps seam-side down to crisp and seal them before slicing.

Is it possible to make this gluten-free?

Yes, use certified gluten-free tortillas and ensure soy sauce is gluten-free to maintain all flavors without gluten.
